About me

I have spent my fair share of hours outdoors, skiing, hiking, hunting, observing nature.

I have lived and worked for a few years in Greenland, traveled up and down the West coast from Qaqortoq in the South and Siorapaluk and Qaanaaq in the North.

I am also an engineer by formal education… and has worked within research, innovation, design and development all of my professional career.

So my designs are a bit of everything – dwell into each of my projects and don’t hesitate to contact me if you want to know more.

Origins

  • I am the daughter of an architect and a women’s tailor – with all what that entails… – so I grew up with a self-built house, white perfect walls with shadow effects, my mother’s sewing room at home (she is still active after 45 years), a very disciplined approach to fit and construction in combination with aesthetics and elegance. But I also grew up in the countryside, with farming, sheep farming, dyeing own wool, my mother’s preference for linen, wool and silk and constant experimentation with old techniques in new contexts and a good deal of creativity and curiosity.
  • When living in Greenland, I have met amazing kindred female creative spirits, and learnt a good share of working with skins, leather and musk ox wool and observed the ingenious designs on traditional clothing: beautiful, elegant, practical, functional and amazingly kind to and embracing the female physique.
