Greenland silk seal collection

A unique mix of the traditional lines in a modern brave context.

All styles are made with Greenlandic sealskin / harp skin – carefully hand picked grade A or B – from Great Greenland

All sealskin processed by Great Greenland is caught by Greenlandic Inuit hunters alongside the Greenlandic coast. All skins are tanned at Great Greenland’s tanning facilities in South Greenland. All sealskins comply with EU legislations. Only Inuit hunted sealskins are approved for sale, production and import in the EU.

  • I have been lucky enough to meet and know Gertrud Kleinschmidt, who introduced me to skin techniques and traditional clothing constructions. I am very fascinated by the ingenious simple designs on traditional clothing; beautiful, elegant, practical, comfortable, functional and shape perfectly to, especially, the female physique.
  • Also, I am the proud owner of three beautiful Polar fox skins from Ikuo Oshima – my original intention was to create something perfect out of them but they are so special to me that I just have them on display to enjoy. I have met and Anna Oshima, his wife, who created white seal skin gloves for me; the detail and fit makes me smile every time I wear them!
  • Living and working in Greenland and constantly being flooded by the vast impressive scenery around you and with easy access to both knowledge, inspiration and materials – the seal skin collection was a “must try”.
